Tavira & the eastern Algarve
Tavira is one of the prettiest towns in the Algarve: a Roman bridge, church towers, hipped roofs and a river running into the Ria Formosa lagoon. The beaches are on barrier islands reached by small ferries, and the sea is the warmest in mainland Portugal. It is calm, traditional and very easy to live in.
